Customer Service Tip: This should be rule number one. Instead of telling a customer how THEY can fix a problem or complaint. Stop what YOU are doing and try to correct the problem for them. If you are unable to do it, find someone who can assist them. Introduce them to the person and relate a short version of the situation is, so the customer doesn't get riled up again in the retelling.
